As Head of Content and Social Media (Contractor) at Rivalry, I built and scaled the company’s global social, content and partnership activation infrastructure from scratch.

As one of the first 15 hires, I worked directly with the CEO and CMO through IPO, overhauling the brand’s strategy within my first year. I hired and led a 10 person team, expanded from a single account to a four tier global network with ten hyper local and esports specific channels, and created the second-largest in-house operated CS:GO YouTube channel across two years positioning Rivalry as the most engaged esports focused betting brand globally.

The Client

Rivalry, a Canadian online betting startup, specialized in esports and traditional sports globally. During my tenure, they became the leading esports betting brand and went public in 2021. After my departure, they rebranded as crypto token, sports betting, and casino brand.

The Objective

Launch the brand, disrupt the global esports betting market, and establish Rivalry as a top-three brand within each operating region.

Following early success, the ambition expanded to becoming the most engaged betting brand globally.

Within three years, the strategy scaled Rivalry from early stage startup to a globally recognised, category defining brand, driving significant user acquisition and contributing meaningfully to company growth pre-IPO.
